The  CARBON block is manufactured in an "environmentally friendly" way. It filters very fine particles from drinking water such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

Giardia and Cryptosporidium are two of the most common causes worldwide of an intestinal parasitic infection.

Giardiasis is a diarrheal disease caused by a single-celled, microscopic parasite, Giardia intestinalis (also known as Giardia lamblia). As soon as an animal or person becomes infected with Giardia intestinalis, the parasite lives on in the intestines. Because the parasite is protected by an outer layer, it can survive outside the body and in the environment for an extended period of time.

Coconut shell activated carbon has an exceptionally high micropore density, which means that it can absorb more contaminants per gram. Activated carbon blocks that are made from 100% coconut shells are of higher quality than conventional activated carbon blocks from mass production in China.
