The  CARBON block is manufactured in an "environmentally friendly" way. It filters very fine particles from drinking water such as giardia and cryptosporidia.

Giardia and cryptosporidia are two of the world's most common causes of an intestinal parasitic infection.

Giardia is a diarrheal disease caused by a single-celled, microscopic parasite, Giardia intestinalis (also known as Giardia lamblia). Once an animal or a person becomes infected with Giardia intestinalis, the parasite continues to live in the intestines. Since the parasite is protected by an outer layer, it can survive outside the body and in the environment for a long period of time.

Coconut shell activated carbon has an exceptionally high micropore density, which means that it can absorb more pollutants per gram. Activated carbon blocks made from 100% coconut shells are of higher quality than conventional activated carbon blocks from mass production in China.
