The  CARBON block is manufactured in an "environmentally friendly" way. It filters very fine particles from drinking water such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

The filter is used for drinking water filtration and is also used in treatment systems; it has a high flow rate and produces very clean drinking water.

Giardia and Cryptosporidium are two of the most common causes worldwide of an intestinal parasitic infection.

Giardia is a diarrhoeal illness caused by a single-celled, microscopic parasite, Giardia intestinalis (also known as Giardia lamblia). As soon as an animal or a person becomes infected with Giardia intestinalis, the parasite continues to live in the intestines. Since the parasite is protected by an outer shell, it can survive outside the body and in the environment for a long time.

Coconut-shell activated carbon has an exceptionally high micropore density, which means it can absorb more contaminants per gram. Activated carbon blocks that are made from 100% coconut shells are of higher quality than conventional activated carbon blocks from mass production in China. 

Carbon blocks made from coconut shells are free from chemical additives or binders. Inexpensive activated carbon blocks from China contain additives and binders, which could have a problematic effect on your drinking water.

Due to the high adsorption capacity, coconut-shell activated carbon is more effective at removing chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, organic chemicals and unpleasant odours.
