The reverse osmosis membrane is the heart of the production of reverse osmosis water. The PUR onTop will automatically remind you when it is time to replace the reverse osmosis membrane; this can happen after a service life of about 12 months.

The reverse osmosis membrane works with a finely laser-cut polymer film through which tap water is forced at high pressure. In the reverse osmosis system, a booster pump presses the contaminated water through a reverse osmosis membrane. There, the water molecules are separated from pollutants and impurities.

The membrane’s very fine pores have a diameter smaller than 0.0001 microns and therefore only allow the smallest molecules to pass through the membrane. This gives you pure water.
