PFEX 20 SX IRON REMOVER - Iron filter cartridge is filled with filter media to reduce
the iron concentration in water
The iron filter cartridge reduces the iron concentration, lowers the
hydrogen sulfide content, the metallic taste, and the smell of the
water.
An iron water filter is used to remove iron and manganese from the water. These contaminants can occur in some water supply systems and can cause various problems, such as discoloration of the water, deposits in pipes and appliances, as well as an unpleasant taste or smell in the water. The immediate result of excessive iron content in the water is the formation of rust stains on sanitary fittings (bathtubs, sinks).
The filter cartridge is filled with a mixture of pyrolusite and quartz sand granules of different grain sizes.
The FE² dissolved in the water is converted to FE³ and removed from the water. The iron filter uses hydrogen sulfide to oxidize Fe² to Fe³.
Reduction of:
Iron
up to a max. value of 4.0 mg/l can be used
Manganese
up to a max. value of 0.1 mg/l can be used
Sulfite (up to 0.9 mg/l )
Oxide (up to 4.0mg/l )
Chloride (up to 4.8 mg/l)
Silicates (up to 35.0 mg/l)
The iron filter helps normalize the water's pH value.
- Iron ion treatment
- Odor problems and fine particles
- the filter also removes light oils
To extend service life, it is recommended to install a sediment cartridge from the FA or FAG series upstream of the iron filter cartridge.
The iron filter cartridge for reducing the iron concentration
- Iron ion treatment
- Odor problems and fine particles
- the filter also removes light oils
- Service life: approx. 6 months or approx. 6,000 l (depending on the iron (max.
4 mg/l) and manganese levels (max. 0.1 mg/l) and the flow volume)
- Maximum temperature: up to 45 °C
- Recommended maximum flow rate at approx. 3 bar / 1000l/h.
!With iron filter cartridges, granular dust may initially come out, caused by transportation. Let the water run until it is clear. If necessary, install any downstream filters only after that!
PLEASE NOTE THE MAXIMUM VALUES. IF NECESSARY, CARRY OUT A WATER ANALYSIS!
