The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) implements the EU WEEE Directive on the handling of electronic waste in Germany.
The ElektroG is intended to ensure that old electrical devices are not disposed of with household waste, but are collected separately and recycled.
Controlled and monitored disposal is intended to further combat the illegal export of old electrical devices abroad, enable valuable raw materials to be reused, and reduce negative impacts on the environment and health.

To ensure that the largest possible quantities of electrical and electronic equipment are sent for environmentally friendly disposal, municipal collection points have been set up and had to be equipped with a sufficient number of containers for accepting old devices. The further recovery and recycling of old devices are financed by the manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, who are subject to mandatory registration in Germany.

We have less than 400 m² of shipping and storage space and are therefore not obliged under the ElektroG to take back old electrical devices. Retailers or direct distributors with retail and/or storage areas of less than 400 m² are exempt from the statutory take-back obligations. However, voluntary take-back for disposal remains possible.

Information obligations toward private households pursuant to Section 18 ElektroG

(1) Pursuant to Section 17 ElektroG, we are obliged under the conditions stated there to take back old electrical and electronic equipment free of charge. We fulfill this legal obligation via the internet portal interseroh.de. Detailed information on the exact scope of our take-back obligations and the options we have created for returning old devices can be found via the following link:

>>> Return of old devices <<<

(2) DISPOSAL NOTICE: Please remove the filter cartridges from your reverse osmosis system and dispose of them with household waste before taking the rest of the system to electrical waste!

(3) We inform all owners of old electrical and electronic equipment that they are legally obliged to submit these devices to separate collection from unsorted municipal waste. Accordingly, in particular, disposing of old electrical and electronic equipment in the residual waste bin or the yellow bin is prohibited. The symbol shown below and affixed to electrical and electronic equipment of a crossed-out wheeled bin also indicates the obligation of separate collection.

(4) We inform all owners of old electrical and electronic equipment that they are legally obliged, before handing over these old devices, to remove old batteries and accumulators; these must be removed by the end user before return without destruction and using standard tools.

(5) We inform all end users of old electrical and electronic equipment that they are themselves responsible for deleting personal data on the old devices to be disposed of.
