2 x PFEX 10 SX IRON REMOVER - Iron Filter Cartridge
Supplied with filtration media to reduce the iron concentration in water.
The PFEX filter cartridge not only lowers the iron concentration, but also the hydrogen sulfide content, significantly reducing metallic taste and unpleasant odors.
An iron water filter is used to remove iron and manganese from water. These contaminants can occur in some water supply systems and can cause various problems such as discoloration of the water, deposits in pipes and appliances, and an unpleasant taste or odor. The immediate consequence of an excessively high iron content in water is the formation of rust rings on sanitary fixtures (bathtubs, sinks).
The filter cartridge is filled with a mixture of pyrolusite and quartz sand granules of varying grain sizes.
In the process, the dissolved ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) is oxidized to ferric iron (Fe³⁺) and then securely bound in the filter medium. The PFEX filter intentionally uses hydrogen sulfide as an oxidation aid for this purpose.
- Manganese usable up to a max. value of 0.1 mg/l
- Sulfite (up to 0.9 mg/l)
- Oxide (up to 4.0 mg/l)
- Chloride (up to 4.8 mg/l)
- Silicates (up to 35.0 mg/l)
- Odor issues and fine particles
- the filter also removes light oils
- Service life: approx. 6 months or approx. 3,000 l (and the throughput)
- Maximum temperature: up to 45 °C
- Recommended maximum flow rate at approx. 3 bar / 1000l/h.
!With iron filter cartridges it may occur that granulate dust is released at first, which is produced during transport. Let the water run until it is clear. If necessary, install subsequent filters only afterwards!
PLEASE OBSERVE THE MAXIMUM VALUES. IF NECESSARY, PERFORM A WATER ANALYSIS!
Test drops for determining the iron content in water (optional - Item No.: 8056300922834)
