PFEX 10 BIG SX - Iron filter cartridge - 10 inch BIG iron filter cartridge well water to reduce iron concentration in the water

The PFEX series is filled with two filter media that reduce the iron concentration (dissolved and solid) in the water, eliminate hydrogen sulfide, the metallic taste and odor of the water and normalize the pH value of the water.

Water with too high an iron content is the main cause of wear and tear on industrial equipment and household appliances due to deposits of so-called “scale”. Iron salts damage textiles washed in such water and irritate the skin. They cause various pathologies, such as the "Kashin-Beck" disease. The direct consequence of too high an iron content in the water is the formation of rusty edges on sanitary facilities (bathtubs, sinks).

The filter cartridge is filled with a mixture of BIRM and differently grained quartz sand granules.

Lifespan: approx. 3 - 6 months or approx. 5,000 l (depending on the water quality - max. 3 mg/l dissolved iron and 0.1 mg/l manganese)
