In Germany, the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) implements the EU WEEE Directive on the handling of electronic waste.
The ElektroG is intended to ensure that waste electrical equipment is not disposed of with household waste, but is collected separately and recycled.
Controlled and monitored disposal is intended to further combat the illegal export of waste electrical equipment abroad, enable valuable raw materials to be reused, and reduce the negative effects on the environment and health.

To ensure that the largest possible quantities of electrical and electronic equipment are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way, municipal collection points have been set up and equipped with a sufficient number of containers for collecting old equipment. Further recovery and recycling of old equipment are financed by the manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, who are subject to mandatory registration in Germany.

Information obligations toward private households in accordance with Section 18 ElektroG

(1) In accordance with Section 17 ElektroG, under the conditions stated there, we are obliged to take back waste electrical and electronic equipment free of charge. We fulfill this legal obligation via the internet portal interseroh.de. Detailed information on the exact scope of our take-back obligations and the options we have created for returning old equipment can be found via the following link:

>>> Return of old equipment <<<

(2) DISPOSAL NOTICE: Please remove the filter cartridges from your reverse osmosis system and dispose of them with household waste before taking the rest of the system to electronic waste!

(3) We would like to inform all owners of waste electrical and electronic equipment that they are legally obliged to ensure that these devices are collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. Accordingly, in particular, disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the residual waste bin or yellow bin is prohibited. The symbol shown below and affixed to electrical and electronic equipment, depicting a crossed-out wheeled bin, also indicates the obligation of separate collection.

(4) We would like to inform all owners of waste electrical and electronic equipment that they are legally obliged, before handing in this old equipment, to remove old batteries and accumulators from it without destroying them, using standard tools, before return by the end user.

(5) We would like to inform all end users of waste electrical and electronic equipment that they are themselves responsible for deleting personal data on the old equipment to be disposed of.
