5 x pfex 10 sx iron remover - iron filter cartridge

The PFEX filter cartridge not only reduces the iron concentration, but also the hydrogen sulfide content, thereby significantly reducing metallic taste and unpleasant odors.

An iron water filter is used to remove iron and manganese from water. These contaminants can occur in some water supply systems and can cause various problems such as discoloration of the water, deposits in pipes and appliances, as well as an unpleasant taste or odor in the water. The direct result of excessive iron content in water is the formation of rust stains on sanitary fixtures (bathtubs, sinks).

The filter cartridge is filled with a mix of pyrolusite and quartz sand granules of varying grain sizes.

Dissolved divalent iron (Fe²⁺) in the water is oxidized to trivalent iron (Fe³⁺) and then securely bound in the filter medium. The PFEX filter specifically uses hydrogen sulfide as an oxidation aid for this process.

Reduction of:

- Iron usable up to a max. value of 4.0 mg/l
- Manganese usable up to a max. value of 0.1 mg/l
- Sulfite (up to 0.9 mg/l )
- Oxide (up to 4.0mg/l )
- Chloride (up to 4.8 mg/l)
- Silicates (up to 35.0 mg/l)

The iron filter helps normalize the pH value of the water.

!With iron filter cartridges it may occur that granule dust is initially released due to transport. Let the water run until it is clear. If applicable, only install subsequent filters afterwards!
