The  CARBON block is manufactured in an "environmentally friendly" way. It filters very fine particles from drinking water such as giardia and cryptosporidia.

Giardia and cryptosporidia are two of the world's most common causes of intestinal parasitic infection.

Giardia is a diarrheal disease caused by a single-celled, microscopic parasite, Giardia intestinalis (also known as Giardia lamblia). Once an animal or person is infected with Giardia intestinalis, the parasite lives on in the intestines. Because the parasite is protected by an outer shell, it can survive outside the body and in the environment for an extended period of time.

Coconut-shell activated carbon has an exceptionally high micropore density, which means it can absorb more contaminants per gram. Activated carbon blocks that are made from 100% coconut shells are of higher quality than conventional activated carbon blocks from mass production in China.
