Granular activated carbon filters are an effective method for purifying water. The increased filter performance is due to the large surface area of ​​the carbon grains, which can adsorb a variety of pollutants from the water. Here's how this process works:

2. adsorption: The process by which pollutants are removed from water is called adsorption. The pollutants are not chemically changed or broken down, but simply adhere to the surface of the activated carbon.
