LA 10 SX -TS - Granulated Activated Carbon Water Filter Cartridge

Granulated activated carbon filters are an effective method for purifying water. The increased filter performance is based on the large surface area of the carbon granules, which can adsorb a variety of contaminants from the water. Here is how this process works:

1. Large surface area: Granulated activated carbon consists of small, porous granules with a huge surface area. This surface provides many places where contaminants can stick. The porous structure of the activated carbon granules creates an even larger surface area.

2. Adsorption: The process by which contaminants are removed from the water is called adsorption. The contaminants are not chemically changed or broken down; they simply adhere to the surface of the activated carbon.

3. Contaminant removal: When the water flows through the activated carbon filter, contaminants such as chlorine, organic compounds, and other impurities adhere to the surface of the activated carbon. This results in clean, purified water on the other side of the filter.

4. Coconut shell activated carbon has an exceptionally high micropore density, which means it can absorb more contaminants per gram. Activated carbon filters made from 100 % coconut shells are of higher quality than conventional activated carbon blocks from mass production in China.
