The PFEX filter cartridge not only reduces the
iron concentration, but also the
hydrogen sulfide content, significantly reducing
metallic taste and unpleasant odors.
An iron water filter is used to remove iron and manganese from the water. These contaminants can occur in some water supply systems and can cause various problems, such as discoloration of the water, deposits in pipes and appliances, as well as an unpleasant taste or smell in the water. The immediate result of an excessive iron content in the water is the formation of rust stains on sanitary fixtures (bathtubs, sinks).
The filter cartridge is filled with a mixture of pyrolusite and quartz sand granulate with different grain sizes.
This oxidizes the
ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) dissolved in the water into
ferric iron (Fe³⁺) and then safely binds it in the filter medium. The PFEX filter specifically uses
hydrogen sulfide as an oxidation aid for this purpose.
Reduction of:

usable up to a max. value of 4.0 mg/l
- Manganese
usable up to a max. value of 0.1 mg/l- Sulfite (up to 0.9 mg/l )
- Oxide (up to 4.0mg/l )
- Chloride (up to 4.8 mg/l)
- Silicates (up to 35.0 mg/l)
The iron filter helps normalize the water’s pH value.

- Service life: approx. 3 - 6 months (depending on water quality and flow rate - max. 4 mg/L FE² and 0.1 mg/l manganese)
!With iron filter cartridges, it may happen that granulate dust initially comes out, caused by transport. Let the water run until it is clear. If necessary, install subsequent filters only after that!
