Drinking water is one of the world's most valuable resources. According to official statistics, the average German citizen uses up to 130 liters. The demand for drinking water has increased significantly, especially in recent decades. Even though in Germany it is known as one of the foodstuffs subject to the strictest controls, many families are increasingly doubtful about its quality. Using state-of-the-art systems, drinking water is cleaned and treated at a central point before it finally reaches you through the tap. However, even when the applicable limit values are observed, tiny amounts of impurities and pollutants remain. Possible uses for water filters

Water filters, better known as drinking water filters, can be used in a variety of ways. They are suitable for installation in private households, but can also be used in public institutions and businesses. Even though there are now various types of water filters, the basic way they work is always the same. Either membranes or activated carbon blocks are used, through which the water must pass. These blocks and membranes are so fine-meshed that water molecules can pass through easily, while the other substances contained in the water are retained.

The reverse osmosis process has, for example, proven itself in many water filters over the years. The ions dissolved in the drinking water are exchanged here for ions of the same charge. They work reliably, but they do have one weakness. After a certain amount of time, the microbial load increases significantly. For use on the go, you will also find various microfilters. These water filters are particularly compact and can be stored easily. The core component here is the hollow-fiber membranes, which have a pore size of just 0.2 micrometers. They can also retain bacteria very reliably.
